Crock Pot Meatballs Recipe
Got a crock pot & a hankering for meatballs? Try this delish Crock Pot Meatballs recipe – they’re sooo good you’ll have to keep from slapping your Mama!
Like any good crock pot/slow cooker recipe, these meatballs are about as low maintenance as you can get. In fact, you could get away with not chopping ANYTHING up if you’re willing to go without fresh onion, garlic and parsley and use the dried powder or flake versions instead. Our kids are finicky about textures so I use onion & garlic powder instead of the fresh stuff.
2 pounds ground beef (or whatever meat you choose)
1 medium onion chopped OR 1 tbsp onion powder
2 cloves garlic, minced OR 1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 jar (28 ounces) spaghetti sauce or marinara
1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes in puree
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
1 cup italian breadcrumbs
1/4 cup chopped parsley
If you like your sauce LESS greasy, preheat the oven to 350 degrees (browning the meatballs beforehand will help get some fat/grease off them). While oven is preheating, mix the ground beef, bread crumbs, parsley, garlic, onion & beaten eggs. Shape mixture into balls and place on a sprayed cookie sheet. Brown the meatballs in the oven for 15 minutes.
Want to make clean-up easier? Use a Reynolds Slow Cooker liner. 😉
Mix the sauce & crushed tomatos in puree in the slow cooker and add the browned meatballs. Cook on low setting for 6-8 hours.
Serve on their own, in a sub, with spaghetti or spaghetti squash- you know however you like to roll with yo’ meatballs.
