Proatmeal: Powered Up Oatmeal

This is my vegan version of an Insanity Elite Nutrition Plan breakfast (Proatmeal!). Great way to start your day – when I have this for breakfast I stay full for hours and it helps power me through even the most intense of workouts (even Insanity Asylum!). If you want to get a lasting kickstart to your morning, this is the way to do it.

Proatmeal: Powered Up Oatmeal Recipe



1/2 cup dry old fashioned or steel cut oatmeal

1 scoop Sun Warrior Warrior Blend Raw Vegan Vanilla Protein powder

1 tablespoon toasted walnuts

1 tablespoon pure grade a or b maple syrup or agave nectar to sweeten

1/4 cup fresh berries

Splash of unsweetened almond milk

Cook oatmeal per directions on box. Add scoop of vanilla protein powder and maple syrup or agave nectar. Stir until combined and top with toasted walnuts, fresh berries and a splash of almond milk.  A hearty way to kickstart your day!

If you prefer a whey protein powder, you can go your own “whey” and add it on. Sorry- I couldn’t resist the bad pun. If you prefer a cold cereal, you can prepare it the night before and put in the fridge to chill overnight.

Hot or cold- you can’t go wrong with this yummy, high in fiber & protein breakfast.
